Less WinMo Devices During 2009

Hulk and windows mobile

According to Todd Peters, VP of marketing for the Windows Mobile Division, Microsoft intends to limit the number of devices running Windows Mobile during 2009.

One of the great things with WinMo is that everyone can find the perfect form factor for his need.

On the other hand, having so many different devices running the same platform requires a very generic infrastructure which means extra development and support efforts as every device is a bit different.

Generic infrastructure == less features.

This is a fact I see in every software I use or develop.

Like an old man once said: "Trying to find one shirt for all seasons will make you sick during the winter and smell bad all summer..."

OK, I just invented that...

But I'm getting old, so it's almost the same...
