Few days ago I wrote about Nokia's 90% fall in first-quarter net profits (read more).
Today I found that Samsung reported, also, a 72% drop in quarterly profit but unlike Nokia, Samsung managed to beat the market expectations and forecast.
Samsung's January-March net profit fell to 619 billion won ($458.1 million) from 2.19 trillion won a year ago, but was well above an average forecast for 149 billion won.
One of the strong divisions, according to the report is the telecoms division that performed well in the previous quarter.
I wonder if my review about the Samsung Omnia had something to do with it... probably... yeah... maybe my thousands of readers followed my recommendations and immediately purchased a new Omnia? Yeah... Well, probably not.
Anyways, the full report can be found in CNBC.com.
