Gsmart S1200 from Gigabyte

Finally, and iPhone with a 'Send' and 'End' buttons! This is what I was asking for a long time now... wait... it's actually not an iPhone is it?

Yet again, another iClone running Windows Mobile - but you may like this one as it's a bit different than the usual HTC Touch devices.

Gsmart S1200 from Gigabyte is a WinMo phone running version 6.1 with an interesting Flash based UI shell called "Smart Vision".

The Smart Vision UI is supposed to go beyond just a shallow cover of the standard WinMo UI, but looking at the videos, I assume some might probably not like the design of it.

This phone will become available in July 2009 - at first with version 6.1 but it is WinMo 6.5 compatible so a free upgrade will become available soon. The phone comes with a WVGA display, a trackball and a 3MP camera with autofocus.

Its full list of features includes:

  • 3.1 inch TFT touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels
  • Gigabyte’s Smart Zone/vision user interface
  • GSM and HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity
  • Built-in GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Mini USB 2.0
  • 3MP camera with autofocus
  • MicroSD card slot
  • 528 MHz Qualcomm processor
  • 256MB ROM, 128MB RAM
  • 1010 mAh battery

Check out this nice video preview of the user interface:
