New folding keyboard patent by Samsung

Just saw this one at the wmpoweruser;

samsungkeyboard_thumb

Samsung's new patent called rear keyboard which is a folding keyboard.

It's actually a system with 2 small and thin half-QWERTY keyboards hidden in the body of the system, but can fold out automatically when text entry is needed.

There goes my single handed support... I can already see how hard it is to pull those wings out when needed...

Nevertheless, it's interesting to see the trials to solve the size problem... (not mine... I don't have this problem... why are you looking at me like that?!)

Patent diagrams are notoriously silly looking (often to hide how elegant the end product might actually look when implemented) but then occassionally a "Segway" happens and you think... My god, the patent wasn't intentionally silly, the real device really does look that silly!

In either case, I cannot possibly imagine how this design could possibly be comfortable, but what do I know?  I'm just a WM user that wants his D-Pads and app-buttons back!  (But I'm also willing to admit that the Pre's slide-down keyboard PWNS all the cumbersome slide-sideways keyboards, like my Touch Pro).
