BlackBerry Slider – Video Walkthrough

Finally! Some interesting BlackBerry stuff.

BlackBerry Slider

BlackBerry OS 6.0 will be RIM's 3rd attempt to do a touchscreen UI in the right way. This is how it looks like in the new BlackBerry slider device (see video below):

I'm must say I'm looking at the video, and although there is a huge progress from previous versions, I'm not sure there is any innovation in the UI.

In addition, the slider form factor looks slim and elegant comparing to similar devices, but based on research done by Gartner, it may be problematic for business users who may not like the need to expand the keyboard every time they need to write an email.

Will BlackBerry users stay loyal to RIM or will they switch to Android or iPhone? Will be interesting to wait and see.

BlackBerry users, what do you think of the new user interface?

I hope it entices away business users.  I'm SO FUCKING SICK of supporting the iPhone in the enterprise.  It is NOTHING but problems.

The video clearly showed an on-screen keyboard appear when the slider's keyboard was collapsed and the user touched an input field.  I don't think that will be an issue.
